Given that WWE is the biggest professional wrestling company on the planet with one of the most recognizable brands in the world, you’d think that strange and wacky goings-on would be few and far between. On the contrary, WWE is a place in which bizarre happenings are incredibly common, with their workers getting embarrassed in many ways, shapes, and forms throughout WWE’s different eras. Whether it be kissing the bum of their own boss Vince McMahon, being stripped down to their underwear, or, in one strange instance, urinating themselves live on PPV, there have been countless examples of embarrassing moments for WWE superstars over the years.
Drake Maverick Was In The Corner Of The AOP
Survivor Series 2018 played host to not just the Raw vs. SmackDown brand versus brand supremacy battle, but it also hosted one of the weirdest ever moments to take place live and in color on a PPV, and it involved multi-time 24/7 Champion Drake Maverick, who at the time was both the General Manager for the 205 Live brand, and also the manager for the Authors of Pain tag team, taking the reins from Paul Ellering who led the duo back in NXT. At Survivor Series, the AOP walked into the event as Raw Tag Team Champions, set to do battle with the SmackDown Tag Team Champions of The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro).
Due to Maverick being in the corner of Akam and Rezar, The Bar did their own recruitment to level the playing field, and they brought The Big Show along to stand in their corner for the match. Most of the match went by without much to note, with the two powerhouse teams going back and forth in a simple yet decent encounter. Towards the latter stages of the match, Sheamus was beating down on his opponents, running wild with offense until Maverick ran the interference, putting Rezar’s foot on the ropes as The Bar were set to win. This drew the ire of Big Show, and it led to a crazy moment.

Drake Maverick Had To Legit Pee Himself
The Bar chased Maverick around the ring, which led to him finding himself trapped on the apron. Big Show used his giant hands to grab the throat of Maverick, choking him out. Out of what was supposedly pure fear, Maverick urinated in his own pants at this. Maverick’s shouts of “oh no” were met with pure bewilderment from Show, Sheamus, and Cesaro, who circled him. Now, you’d have thought that this moment was a work - well it was supposed to be.

If you rewatch the moment, you can see Maverick desperately pressing something in his left hand, which was a device that was supposed to spark the fake pee to emerge through his pants and down his leg. Unfortunately, this did not work, and instead of just moving on from the spot, Maverick decided to shoot pee himself to complete the moment. Yes, he did in fact genuinely do this live on PPV in front of millions of fans. Maverick spoke about how he had planned for this moment in advance just in case the contraption didn’t work, explaining during an interview on Table Talk;
“I intentionally went out in gray trousers and didn’t wear underwear just in case. Obviously, with any material, you don’t know how thick it is and if water will show up. I’m closing my eyes and just concentrating on getting out as much tinkle as I can, but I’m also trying to make sure that the stream is going to touch the clothing. Where I’m peeing, I’m forcing the material onto myself so it will come through. It was just a trickle, but you could see it and everyone got the gist.” (H/T Fightful)
Drake Maverick’s Actions Were Met With Laughs Backstage
Maverick went backstage afterwards, and he was met with producer Road Dogg, who wasn’t all that impressed with how the spot played out. Of course, he hadn’t known that the device genuinely hadn’t worked properly;
“I come backstage and Road Dogg is like, ‘Can I talk to you? There something wrong with the contraption? It looked like it sucked’. ‘Yes there is something wrong, it didn’t work and I had to wet myself’. ‘Wait, did you shoot piss yourself?’. ‘YES!’. ‘AH HA! HUNTER! HE SHOOT PISSED HIMSELF! VINCE!’ (Vince): ‘WHAT?’ (Road Dogg): ‘HE SHOOT PISSED HIMSELF!’ (Vince): ‘WHAT? HA!’. Usually, you go over to Vince and Hunter and you give them a handshake and thank them for allowing you to do business and things like that, but on that day, I was excused from the handshake because it was covered.”
Maverick was never a major star in WWE, but he had several memorable moments such as his storyline in NXT following he legitimate firing, his pursuits for the 24/7 Championship which were always funny, and of course this moment where he peed himself at Survivor Series.
